Conservation of the environment is one of Tompla’s main concerns; we understand that this also allows us to offer a more complete service to our clients and to reconcile our industrial development with respect for our surroundings. For some time now this has not just been a statement, these are actual achievements, making us more and more ambitious in this area.

We set up a series of environment protection measures and obtained some excellent results. This led us to decide to achieve optimum quality with maximum respect for the environment by developing a series of really effective measures, in all areas of the company.

In order to improve its management, Tompla has taken measures regarding the segregation and classification of waste, water purifying, reduction of noise contamination and atmospheric emissions. All factory and office employees have been informed of this commitment, and the management team has made significant investments to adapt the facilities. But this commitment is not limited to internal production processes, it also extends to raw materials, using those that have less impact on the place of origin, that are recyclable and safe for the environment (they do not contain contaminants and they have an environmentally-friendly composition).

In this sense, TOMPLA has concentrated its efforts on the definition and documentation of a Chain of Custody Management System in accordance with the requirements of the international standards PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes ) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

The certification of the chain of custody implies the evaluation of the forestry production line, from the tree to the end product, including all the processing, transformation, manufacture and distribution stages, to verify that the wood used comes from a well-managed forest. Due to which TOMPLA keeps its commitment to implement and maintain the chain of custody requirements in accordance with the international PEFC and FSC rules.

With the implementation of the Chain of Custody System, TOMPLA maintains the effort to guarantee that the paper it uses to manufacture its envelopes comes from well-managed, FSC or PEFC-certified and other controlled forestry operations, where ecological, social and responsible forest management values are observed.

TOMPLA has set out as a priority not to purchase raw materials from illegal fellings or conflictive sources, due to which it will demand the necessary requirements from its suppliers to guarantee this.

After everything achieved so far, we continue working convinced that respect for the environment is and will be one of the development vectors inherent in our activity, now and in the future.
